FIV+, Must be only cat

Rufus looks like a tough guy. He’s certainly known his share of hardship: We know that previous owners moved and simply left him outside to fend for himself. By the time he was discovered by someone willing and able to help, he was starving. You’d think that such a feline would be very suspicious of humans, to say the least. Nonetheless, Rufus can be a sweet boy. He is the first cat to greet any visitors who enter the FIV+ suite and will rub against your legs. He likes to be the center of attention whenever humans are around.

Now that he’s in a safe place where he’s taken care of, Rufus has become a creature of habit. He likes things just the way they are. He can become upset when there are lots of changes in his environment. For example, when there’s lots of new cats in his suite, he can get very frustrated and cranky (as he’s not a huge fan of other cats, either).

He may have behavior issues, but Rufus isn’t a bad cat and he’s certainly not unadoptable. Rufus needs an adopter who is understanding that he can have his moods and that he will need extra time and space adjusting to a new home. With the right care and adopter, Rufus will make a wonderful companion.
